New entrance doors and upgrade to 60 minute glazed fire doors.

A local authority, which operates around 7,300 properties located across the Moray region in northeast Scotland, has upgraded its specification to include new communal entrance doors and 60-minute glazed fire doors manufactured by Manse Masterdor.

Door fabricator and installer Ergon has installed 100 cherry red Masterdor fire doors with Georgian wired glazed panels as part of the refurbishment of flatted dwellings owned by Moray Council in Dufftown, Buckie, Keith and Elgin.

The contract also involves the design, supply and fit of bespoke entrance doors featuring symmetrical side panels to accommodate entry access systems.  The high-performance doors incorporate three glazed panels to ensure visibility at varying heights.  Porches into which the doors are fitted also feature Sheerframe windows from UK systems company L.B. Plastics.  Like the Masterdors, Sheerframe windows are engineered to cope with the hostile conditions experienced in exposed coastal locations.

John Macdonald, Capital Programmes Manager for Moray Council, said: “The fitting of these doors has not only improved the fire safety of our tenants, but also made the properties more secure and allows us to make major strides towards meeting the Scottish Housing Quality Standards by 2015.”
